ADS-B Out Signal Encryption & Anonymization
In 2019, Strike Labs was tasked by the FAA to develop an encryption solution for ADS-B signals—a system that was designed to enhance aviation safety but exposed critical vulnerabilities. Unencrypted signals left military and private aircraft open to tracking by adversaries, compromising national security. Despite bureaucratic challenges, Strike Labs crafted an encryption protocol to protect these signals while maintaining transparency. We continue advocating for its broader implementation, aiming to keep sensitive operations secure and fulfill our commitment to national defense innovation.
